Squish Squash

Nothing like fall to put you in the mood for some squash!














I baked some squash in the oven (cut in half, face down with a little water on the pan - pretty simple) which gave me a chance to experiment with the seeds!  On page 80 of Bittman's book you can find the recipe for baking seeds.


First I scooped all the seeds out and then I rinsed them real well, next adding some flavors (namely sugar but also a little bit of spiciness alongside of some cinnamon).  The result was a nice fall snack alongside some delicious soft squash!  Okay it wasn't totally nice, it had some bitter taste to it, but maybe that just comes with the territory - hopefully it wasn't my fault!
