Now that it's winter, I've been feeling the need to eat warm breakfast foods. I don't really love oatmeal, but I like the idea of a warm grain breakfast with fruit and nuts in it. I found a recipe online for bulgur breakfast cereal so I bought some bulgur at the co-op. I used Bittman's recipe on page 185 to prepare the grain. After I prepared the bulgur I added milk, maple syrup, and brown sugar. I also added chopped up pecans, sesame seeds, raisins, and a sliced banana. It was really good! I liked it a lot better than oatmeal because it wasn't as slimy and didn't have much of a distinct taste. I'll definitely eat it again.
